1st Mail Draft
Subject: Google Penalty & I really need your help

Dear Webmaster:

I recently received notice from Google that my website has been assessed a penalty after they detected unnatural links pointing to my website http://www.mysite.com/.

The only way that Google will consider placing my website back in their index is by getting these links removed. And I really need your help!

I have been hard at work trying to identify links that Google could consider unnatural and there is a link that can be found on your website at this URL:

It points to this URL on my website:
Using this anchor text:

If I fail to get this link removed by sending this email Google has an alternative way of me dropping the value / or penalty from this link. They have a process in which I am able to file a “Disavow Links” report with Google.

My concern is that if I submit your site in this report to Google, they may flag your site as Spammy or otherwise not in compliance with their guidelines. Google is still the major source of high quality traffic on the Internet. Sometimes their guidelines and expectations change and the last thing that I want is to have another webmaster go through this pain and grief!

I’d appreciate your prompt attention to this matter, along with a confirmation that the links has been removed.

Sorry for the hassle & thanks in advance for your help and I hope that you never personally have to go through this…

Thanks,

2nd Follow up Mail Template (remove “AND FINAL” if you plan to send a third mail)
Subject: Fwd: Google Penalty & I really need your help

Dear Webmaster:

I sent an email to you a few days ago asking to have a link removed from your site. This is our SECOND AND FINAL request to ask for your help in removing what Google considers an unnatural link(s) to our website, http://www.mysite.com/, located on your website.

Could you please address this issue immediately as I am planning on sending a “Links Disavow Request” to Google within the next couple days. Hopefully the link will be removed by then – I am not entirely sure what Google does with sites that are listed in a Disavow request but I’d like to avoid any possibility of having your pages identified as having possible spam or unnatural link to Google.

Here are the linking details:

I would appreciate your prompt attention in removing the link(s) and providing confirmation of removal would be greatly appreciated.

I regret bothering you with this, but Google has limited our options and I am sorry for placing some of the burden on your shoulders

Thanks for your assistance, and sorry for the inconvenience.

3rd Follow up mail draft (optional)
Subject: Third and Final Request

Dear Webmaster:

This is our THIRD AND FINAL Request to you seeking assistance in removing what Google considers an unnatural link(s) to our website, http://www.mysite.com, located on your website.

We ask that you address this issue immediately as we intend to send the Links Disavow Request to Google within the next couple days. By removing our link(s) on your website you will avoid having your pages identified to Google as having possible spam or unnatural links.

Cooperating with us and removing our link(s) creates a WIN-WIN situation for both of us!

Here are the linking details –

Using this anchor text:

This is our LAST attempt to ask for your cooperation. Failure to remove the link(s) within the next couple of days will result in your website being included in our Link Disavow Request to Google. We do not want to include your website as it will certainly “flag” your site as “spammy” and / or otherwise not in compliance with their guidelines. The last thing that I want is to have another Webmaster go through this grief.

Your prompt attention to removing the link(s) and providing confirmation of such removals will be greatly appreciated.

We regret having to bother you with this, but Google has given us no other alternative. Thanks for your assistance, and best of luck to you in the future.

Thanks,
