How To Use The Magic of Paid Guest Post Links To Rank Any Site

Paid Guest Posting for SEO has been a top method for ranking sites on Google for many years.

It has always worked and is still working – if executed the right way.

I have been able to outrank competitors in tough niches, starting with fresh sites – by using just this one strategy.

If you want to dominate the SERPs and beat the competition – in the toughest of niches – just follow the process I outline here.

I have personally used it to rank sites in super-competitive niches for keywords having $50+ CPC in Adwords
I know firsthand from my own personal experience that it works very well if done correctly.

I “walk the talk”, as they say (just trying to establish some credibility with new readers here… not bragging. Saying that I do this stuff myself in my projects and it works. Trying to distinguish myself from other SEO content you may be reading or watching!)

Anyway, this is not some SEO fluff post… and if you read my stuff on my bog, you already know the kind of SEO I teach and do 🙂

I have spent countless hours work on this technique and have spent thousands of dollars while executing this very SEO method… and I have achieved amazing results with it.

Of course you need to have a solid on-page SEO as well – if you want each guest post link to push your pages up faster. On-page SEO is like adding grease to the moving parts. Off-page is like the gas that pushes ranks.

The standard SEO principles hold still… as in all SEO – when all your SEO factors are good they each help one another achieve bet
ter movements and you can dominate literally any niche.

Just make sure you have proper content silo structures and solid on-page SEO done for your target site. You can check out may posts on these topics if you like.

Also, make sure your anchor text optimization of your backlinks profile is done properly and you don’t stuff it unnaturally or leave any SEO manipulation signals for the algorithm.

That said, lets get started!

There’s a couple of broader strategic methods, that one can adopt while doing Guest posts…

The Slow Tedious Method (that you probably already know about)

<img role= Guest Posting Done via Cold Email Outreach

This is exactly what it says it is!

You simply make an attempt to get a Guest Posts done through cold email outreach, by emailing the blog or website owner, and you express your interest to write a guest post article on their blog.

This is the weakest of the methods and doesn’t produce decent response rates – unless you approach things from a different angle BEFORE you ask for the favor.

It’s that simple.

Marketing 101 at play again!
Build relationships by delivering value first… then ask for what you want (the smallest does) and let “reciprocation” do its thing. (one of the 6 principals of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini)

Going About Finding Sites for this method – that Accept Guest Posts

To find the sites that you can contact, you simply do a Google Search like “Write for us” + niche. I have included some footprints you can query later in this post below for you, and you can use Scrapebox to run these queries and scrape sites in large numbers.

This method of getting guest posts works well – but is tedious and will be difficult for most SEOs to perform.
It basically requires you to put in effort to do real cold email outreach  (<img role= do read my comprehensive post on this! ). You will need to have some basic tools and systems in place that can assist you.
You can easily take my method of cold email outreach (from the link above) and adapt it as an SEO method – IF you have the time and the resources to execute the steps in my process at scale.
Note: The site owner where the guest post is published also may or may not mark your article off as a sponsored post, and cite your target site. They may or may not link to your website, based on their internal policy. You should definitely check with them at the time of negotiating for the guest post inclusion on their site.

And Now for the Super-Awesome Method…

Purchasing Backlinks Outright on Guest Post Sites

For this method you will scan marketplaces like Fiverr for providers of Guest Post gigs – and directly purchase backlinks from the owners (or re-sellers),  of the sites that offer guest posts for a fee on Fiverr.

It works like a charm.

But, of course, as in all SEO tricks – you need to do it right.

And, that’s what I am here to help you with 🙂
Simply going out and buying guest post links from every seller selling you guest post links for $5 a pop – is going to get you nowhere! You (mostly) get what you pay for!

Evaluating Each Guest Post Gig and Website

Your main strategy revolves around  to finding quality sites from gig sellers (on Fiverr).

You will need to evaluate each site for power and/or relevancy to make sure it is legit and is worth the asking price.
My high level, super-tactical, Sherlock Homes-zish droolworthy <img role= method of evaluating guest post sites, is the secret SEO sauce candy <img role= here.
My method of evaluation will basically tell you if the guest post site is a  winner or a dud before you buy the backlink and have to wait for 3 weeks for Google algorithm to work its way through the sandbox period.

… After which you eventually find out if any SEO link juice (power) was attributed to the guest post link… so it can move your target page rankings!

I have found from personal experience that – finding guest post sites on marketplaces is a far quicker way to acquire backlinks – than the other method where you scrape Google and other large databases of sites offering guest posts and do slow and tedious outreach.

Quality of Content Required for Guest Posts

The quality of the article also needs to be top notch when you do outreach looking for free guest posts in the first method above – as opposed to the Fiverr marketplace gigs method.

However, you may choose to mix the free outreach method as it does have the potential to get you backlinks from more powerful niche sites – at almost zero cost (your only investment is a very high quality article and the time you spend to do outreach).

When posting on sites listed in marketplaces – you can get by with content that costs you about $30 for 1000 words or so while purchasing the ability to publish your content through Fiverr gigs on these sites.

This is relatively cheap compared to outreaching for guest posts, where you would probably have to pay a lot more for a the high level of content quality that would get approved – perhaps $150 to $300 per 1000 words.
However, the sites from this method would be mostly be more powerful sites in your niche – giving you a LOT more SEO juice.
But, good luck in getting positive feedback from your outreach efforts… because every good site is getting spammed heavily asking for guest posts!

To help you get started with the Fiverr method that I explain below – I will be including a database of websites that accept paid guest posts. Please sign up below to be notified. I will be regularly adding and updating to this list, and I will sort by top quality vendors that I have found (mostly on Fiverr).

Searching for High Quality Guest Post Gigs on Fiverr

Finding top quality guest posting sites on Fiverr takes time and effort.

You need to have in-depth knowledge in knowing exactly how to spot a winner – while quickly discarding the heap of rubbish sites from sellers – that you will encounter 95% of the time.

From my experience – I have seen that you will most probably find 1 good vendor or 1 good site from every 10 to 15 vendors you evaluate.
This is a 5% to 10% finding rate. It is indeed somewhat decent, given that there is a TON of junk sellers and junk sites out there!

My Step by Step Process for Finding Quality Sites and Vendors

As a next step, lets get started on the process I use to find these sites and that you can easily apply for your niche requirements.

Remember – we are looking for high quality websites in our niche on Fiverr.com – that are already offering guest post placements for a fee.

They may or may not included writing of content – but most will and will clearly specify the additional amount for content which is usually around $10 to $15 per 700 words or so.

<img role= Pro Tip  Later on we will also look for Google news approved sites, or Web2.0 sites and even niche cross over sites that I will talk about later.

For now, lets focus on looking for good guest posting sites in your niche.

As a first step…

Go ahead and search in the Fiverr.com search box for….
“your niche” + guest post
For example…
“business guest post”    (without the quotes)
This will show you results of sites being offered by vendors that are in your niche, in this case business.

That’s it? That simple? It couldn’t be easier right?

But wait, we’re not done yet!

We still have to visit each gig and send a PM (private message) to the seller – asking for the domain name.
Note: 99% of sellers / vendors on marketplaces life Fiverr wont list the domain name openly for fear of Google as its against Google guidelines for webmasters to do this… but we don’t care about that, as this is not core blackhat SEO – and if you do it right your site is not getting into any trouble as there is no way Google can detect this.
To say this again – rarely do the gig sellers include the site name or url in the title or description.

They do this to protect their own sites from Google openly saying they are selling backlinks – because it is against google Terms to sell backlinks but it is OK to acquire them- whatever “acquire” means to Google :-)

OK, so lets move on to the Next Step…

Go ahead and right click on a gig in the fiverr results – that looks good, and open it in a new window.

You will see from reading the gigs that most of the time, they talk about one specific site and include site metrics such as the DA (Domain Authority) or DR (Domain Rating) in the gig name or in the description – along with some other site metrics.

Including the DA metric seems to be in fashion 🙂

And, for a reason.

It’s mostly a junk metric that can be easily gamed!

Just fire up a tool like GSA SER and bombard any site with mass backlinks like it was 2008 and you will see its DA sky rocket!

While DA can be somewhat of a guide for you, you should never depend on it.

DA is a metric that can be easily gamed and you must NOT look at it while doing your evaluation. DA is not a reliable metric while measuring the quality or power of a site for SEO purposes.

Move aside Charlie, let me read what’s next…

OK, so while looking at the gig’s description, you can do a quick check to see if its been getting sales of late of has been dormant since the age of dinosaurs.
We are simply checking for negative reviews as an assurance factor that this is not just another scam gig.
Just scroll down to the reviews section and just quickly see if the gig has been getting some sales (although not a requirement in your evaluation) but, do make sure that there are not multiple negative reviews. While sales is not really a factor I use much – it does add to the credibility of the gig a little (if you have any doubt).

Next – Click “Contact Seller” and them a PM!

Your next step will be to send a PM (Private Message) to the gig seller for the site URL by sending them a Private message via the “Contact Seller” button.

This is OK to do!

As per Fiverr engine, you will need to type in a minimum of 50 characters at the very least in each PM you send for the send button to be visible… so, go ahead and send a message like this…
What is the site URL?……………………………………………..
or
What is your domain……………………………………?

<img role=<img role=<img role=

Don’t worry, we’re not spamming and you wont get your account banned.
I’ve done this a gazzilion times in rapid succession with multiple windows open. It seems like Fiverr doesn’t want you to send just one or two words, but is ok with this. Dots seem to work just fine 🙂

And, the gig seller doesn’t see it as spam!

OK. So, what next?

Then, simply hit send and then close the current gig window.
Then simply, proceed to the next gig that is listed in the search result and rinse and repeat the above messaging process.
Once you get comfortable with this – you will probably have 10 to 20 tabs open for each gig and you will simply be cycling through them and sending the PM as above using cut-and-paste.

Again – Fiverr won’t detect the same message being sent, so don’t worry about that.

But, you say… What’s that Charlie? What are we doing here?

To recap – we are manually sending out PMs to all the gig owners for the guest post gig they have listed on Fiverr to ask for the name of the domain / root site URL that they are selling the guest post gig for.

It’s important to note here that most of the gig runners are not the owners of the guest post site, but that they are simply reselling the guest post service.
And, so it is entirely possible that you get different prices for the same site – from different gigs / sellers on the same marketplace.

Beware of the Mass Site List Private Message Fiverr Attack!

Once super handy tip is to be careful of sellers who are have “lists” of guest post sites.

They put up a gig with great metrics at a cheap price etc. as a front to bait you into a conversation or sale and then they start messaging you with their mass site lists.

They often link to Google docs lists where they have 100s of sites listed… or offer you to download their massive site list.

I have found that 90% of the time these lists are full of junk sites at $5 per post or they are simply sites on which guest post links are being resold at very higher prices.

You PM’d asking for one site name, you got back 1000 <img role=

But, wait!

This is not cake.

It’s more like… <img role=

A lot of the time, you will also notice that the gig owner will PM you back with a whole list of sites instead of just one. This means you have a larger list to sift through.

Most of the time, you will be able to easily see if the list is junk or not after just evaluating a few (2 to 3 sites) in their list.

If the guest post only costs $5 to $10 …then it is most probably a junk site!

Quality guest post sites are mostly $15 and above just fro publishing the posts. The higher the price the better the chances are of it being a powerful site – given that its not a scam.

Which is why you need to evaluate each site quickly but carefully to see if it is legit or just some scam selling junk SEO juice on a site that is polished up to “look good”.

Ordering Your Guest Post with or without Content

A very important step, is to check the cost with and without content written by the gig owner.

Most of the time, they will have clearly mentioned on the gig page – the base price for publishing content on the guest post site, and then an additional price where they say…. content writing + publishing.
Usually the price per 500 to 700 words of content is between around $10 to $25 or so… which is reasonable.

You won’t get stellar content. It will be average. But, good enough to be posted – and get you the link juice.

Because, that’s what we want here, right? A quick and powerful backlink with SEO juice. We’re not looking to get opt-in readers from the guest post!

That said, we are finally there!
The site evaluation method!
Drumroll…..

Evaluating Guest Post Site Metrics

Lets talk about the various metrics and key factors you need to check while evaluating a site for a guest post link.

For carrying out this step, you will need access to a site metrics tool like Ahrefs or Majestic… or the fantastic browser extension tool (that I highly recommend everyone doing SEO get) called SERPworx.
You cannot do site evaluation unless you have any one of these tools.
There is a few web based SEO metric aggregation tools out there that work like SEPRworx… and they pull in data from the main providers like Ahrefs just like SERPworx does… so they will also do just fine. But, do realize that these will be paid tools as they access premium data from the upstream providers and have to pay them – so they have to charge you!

<img draggable= Why SERPworx is my go-to SEO tool, for quick background site checks…

SERPworx is a paid tool that works as a browser extension.
IF you are serious about your SEO you should have SERPworx. I highly recommend it and its a tool I use on a day to day basis for my SEO.
They have a SERP overlay which shows custom metrics for each result when you do a Google search. And, it has a website overlay feature – which basically gives you metrics of any website you have open by overlaying a sidebar on the page.

So…

If you want data for any specific website – simply visit the site root page, and wait for various SERPworx metrics to show up in the overlay panel of SERPworx in the browser.

When you do a Google search, you can quickly see at a glance various metrics for the sites in the SERPs which will give you a birds eye view of what kind of pages Google is ranking.

It overlays key metrics data within the SERP page for results that show up when you perform a Google Search. The browser extension displays quite a few important metrics that it shows for all the sites listed in the search results within the search result page in Google itself.
Think of SERPworx like the SEO Quake extension or the Moz Bar tool – on steroids!

Note: For our evaluation of individual sites here – we will have to visit the guest post site and look at the individual site metrics as shown by the SERPworx overlay slide-in on the left side of the browser window.

They have a 14 day trial so, feel free to take it for a spin! The $29 per month subscription plan will work for most SEOs out there.

Checking “Traffic” Metrics of A Guest Post Site

The very first metric you are looking for is “traffic” – which I consider as a core metric.
Sites without traffic, should be discarded off as junk sites. Simply ignore them as scams being sold on Fiverr!
The sad truth is that 9 of 10 sites are junk and will fall in this bracket…

So, be prepared to do a ton of discarding!

Any legit site that you are buying a guest post on must have real traffic coming to it.

Google measures traffic to a site and to every page on a site. It even tracks clicks on each link on a page!

So, Google will in fact eventually consider the traffic your guest post will get and the clicks on the backlink to your target site.
But, this is not something we are looking for at the moment and we are not really concerned right now – because on a page level this metric is NOT very critical. That is, we are not really asking the gig owner how much traffic or views our guest post will eventually get.

The site should have real traffic which proves it to be trustworthy – and having some authority and power.

The amount of traffic we are looking for will closely match the price.

I would say for smaller sites… monthly traffic metric of just a hundred or few hundreds is OK.

Getting 100 to 500 visits per month is an indication that it is not a junk site, with a trickle of traffic.

Now, as the traffic increases to 1000+ and more… the power of the sites ability to pass link juice and SEO value to your target site will also increase.

The point to note here is that – real sites have real traffic coming to them and we are on a hunt them! <img role=” />
Traffic is a key metric. Period.

Any site with real traffic coming to it will be a winning site – provided a few other metrics are met – that we do for our double checks against fake traffic.

If you don’t have a tool like SERPworx, you could get some idea of traffic by looking up a sites Alexa Ranking. However, I don’t use this in my method to check traffic as it is  way too broad a statistic.

Site Power vs Site Relevance

Do note, that we are looking at doing Guest Posts on sites in our niche and not just general sites that have all posts in all topics and categories in them.

Sure, you will get URLs from gig owners for Gigs that say Business Guest Post and when you check you will find that Business is just one category on the site. This happens a lot.

You may or may not choose to push out a guest post on “general site” based on your SEO.

Essentially, in the long run – we are looking for a combination of sites that give us Power + Relevance. That is, some sites with lots of power and some sites with lots of high relevance (content in the same niche).

If you are only getting Power (and no Relevance) from an individual site because it is a general site… and your niche is just one category within it – you may still want to guest post on this site for a backlink.

If the site looks legit and has power and passes all the metrics we are checking for… then it will help with SEO!

However, always keep in mind getting a backlink from a site in your niche that is legit and has traffic (and power) is always stronger than a guest post on a general site with power.
The key factor is that… you should maintain a healthy balance.

You are looking to get about 30% of your backlinks from powerful general sites, and 70% from sites in your niche that have some power.

Checking the Keywords a Site is Ranking For

The next key metric I look at is checking the keywords for which the site is ranking.

The top 100 keywords can easily be seen by using the SEPRworx extension… which is another reason I like this tool a lot!
What you need to be doing very carefully is seeing which keywords are showing up as the top 100 ranking keywords for this site.
If the site is a niche site, then you can quickly scan through the keywords to make sure that the keywords are relevant to the niche.

Be Careful of the Keyword Con!

Make sure that the keywords the site is ranking for are not unrelated to the niche or the blog topics being written about on the site!

For example, if you notice that the keywords for a Business site are mostly about “download free movie” – then this is a scam site and you should discard it and move on!

This type of “traffic con” happens a LOT.
The owner of the site simply purchased another domain that was ranking for a whole bunch of other types of keyword querries (and getting traffic for that type of content) – but because the site had a poor name that is spammy looking or not good for making them “guest post dollars” – they simply 301 redirected the sites pages to a new “better sounding” domain name.

And, so the original sites domain metrics and traffic rankings all gets passed down to the new better sounding target site.

However, they cannot hide the keywords the traffic is coming to the site forand this is where we checkmate them and call out their scam! <img role=<img role=<img role=
<img role= Pro Tip: You should not bother PM’ing or conversing with these sellers and telling them its a scam etc. It really is pointless, and you will be wasting time messaging back and forth as they try and defend themselves. Just move on to your job of evaluating the next gig in line!

Website Design Check

Taking a quick look at the site design of a potential site for guest posting on is also important. Just make sure the site being inspected basically looks OK.

Fresh Recent Content

It should also have content that has been posted recently and not months ago.

Valid SSL Certificate

It should also have a valid SSL certificate and there should be no malware warnings showing up in your browser when you visit the site. (yes, I have seen this happen a few times which is why I always check this)

Misspelled “closely matching” Domain Names

Also, make sure the site you evaluate is the one being offered and not a sub-domain or a misspelling of the domain name!  There are plenty of scammers out there who want your money!

These are all the basic checks and we’re more or less done with them.

Lets now talk about some content guidelines for your actual guest post…

Padding Your Guest Post Page with OBL Backlinks

The guest post that you submit to be published will typically have your backlink in it.

You should also add more other backlinks or OBLs (Outbound Links) to other sites in your niche (strong or weak competitors or other industry niche sites). YEs, you can insert some competitor links also within your guest post – specially the top competitors.

I know it sounds counter intuitive, but when you have a new site coming into the niche (or an established site) but clustering in backlinks to other top ranking sites in your niche, you are basically triggering the “co-occurrence” ranking factor.

Google will now see your site appearing in a piece of content with other leaders in your industry / niche and will as a result pull your site closer into the cluster of top ranking sites in the niche.

Google basically starts trusting your site more in that niche, as a result of “seeing” / indexing this guest post with other industry backlinks.
The editor of the guest post site may also choose to insert additional links that are internal links to other content within the same site.

This is perfectly OK to do and in-fact is a healthy SEO tactic. It increases the authority and relevance of your article and that helps pass more link juice down to the target pages for the keywords and “flavor” of the content the article links out to… and if the anchors are relevant to your niche, then it helps build the authority of the guest post page itself.

How To Evaluate Gig Sellers Accurately

I’ve spent hundreds of countless hours contacting hundreds of seller on Fiverr and PeoplePerHour.

From my analysis, Guest Post sellers / vendors – fall under the following categories…

1. Sellers who directly own one or more sites

There is about a 50-50 chance that you will come across sellers or vendors who owns the guest post site themselves.

2. Sellers who operate as behind the scenes resellers

They don’t own the sites themselves but know the owner or another reseller (you will find these type of sellers mostly)

3. PBN (Private Blog Network) Link Sellers

If you’re looking for PBN sites for Guest Posts… you will find some sellers with access to 100s and 1000s of Private Blog Networks. (mostly low qualtiy links so be careful with using these for your Tier 1 links.

4. Power Sellers with Massive Lists

Rarely you will come across a gem of a seller who owns or has access to an amazing portfolio of sites with amazing stats and at decent prices.

Maintaining Good Guest Post Site-Diversity

As you go about acquiring your paid guest post backlinks, its important that you maintain a healthy balance across various factors.

As I have mentioned earlier in this post – you should learn to balance out power vs relevancy for your overall portfolio of websites on which you get backlinks.
That is, don’t focus on getting backlinks only from sites in your niche – and ignoring getting backlinks from general sites with domain power… or vice versa.

You could follow the ratios below for to maintain a healthy mix as your Tier 1 backlinks –
  • Niche Sites with Relevancy (60%)
  • Power Site with Authority (20%)
  • Google News Approved Websites (10%)
  • Web2.0 Sites (10%) [You can also use these as Tier 2 links to power up your Tier 1 Guest Post sites]

My Private List of Golden Guest Post Gig Sellers

When you do find a seller with good sites, you will know by looking at data that his sites are genuine and real.
Usually when you hit the jackpot and find a good seller / broker who has genuine sites – you will be able to tell quickly that you have found a gem.
I have created my own private list of Gigs and sellers that I have found to be good and worth getting backlinks from.

I have negotiated with these vendors. I have done the research of sites so you don’t have to! Mostly technology and business database but you can approach them for sites in other niches also. I will be expanding the list to cover other niches.

These Guest Post Gig sellers are genuine and 100% legit sellers.

If you would like access to this list or my upcoming private marketplace where you can directly access the list of all sites and key metrics for each – then please make sure you are signed up on my mailing lists from any of the opt-in areas on this website.

Do sign up if you want access to this list (it may be sold at a low price sometime soon).

Who is Gaming Fiverr?

With the growing popularity of marketplaces such as Fiverr, PeoplePerHour, Konker.io, SEOclerks – there is also a massive increase in junk link sellers from fake profiles.

They do exist and there are many sellers who aggregate lists from others and basically mark them up and resell them.

Most of these aggregated large lists will have total junk on them. You will be able to spot a junk list easily once you gain a bit of experience. I’ve also included a list of junk sites from junk sellers here with this course.

Just be aware that there are shady sellers who want your money and they will sell cheap links ($5 a pop) from sites that are not worth any SEO value.
I am pretty sure they have other contacts or other accounts on Fiverr from which they place large number of orders and add fake ratings and reviews to get a bump and visibility in the algorithm.

If Google can be gamed, Fiverr is child’s play!

Sadly, this is the state of the net – fake reviews are everywhere! (+fake news and +fake videos if that wasn’t enough).

While it is in fiverr’s best interest to try and stop this, they’re not effective in doing so and after all it is a heavy cash earner for them.

Sellers make money and so does Fiverr.

The losers are the innocent link buyers… who have not read this blog post <img role=

Eventually every popular marketplace or platform will get spam.

Fiverr is just not addressing it because they don’t have a method in place to check the quality of the Gigs in an open backlink marketplace.

Private Guest Post Marketplaces

If you don’t have the time and resources to invest in looking for quality sellers of good guest post backlinks – then you might want to take a look at some of the private and specialized Guest Posting marketplaces that have cropped up recently.

You will get good quality guest posts here as the sites here have been pre-screened by the private marketplace owners.

However, you can expect to pay 2x or 3x the price for the same sites that you can find if you go directly to Fiverr or PeoplePerHour and do the grunt work.

These sites are nothing by that.

The site operators have aggregated a list of quality backlinks from guest post sites and marked the prices up 2x or 3x even and are simply reselling the guest post backlinks!

A List of a Few “Closed Private Guest Post Marketplaces”

You should avoid ordering guest posts from all these sites at all costs, unless desperate!

  • TheHoth (way over priced like all others here / avoid)
  • SEObutler
  • SERPchampion
  • Authority.Builders
You can also get access of some great sites that offer guest posts on BigGuestPosting.com .

This is a free site with an amazing collection of guest post sites listed with metrics.  However, you need to contact each site owner through email or site links included and negotiate your placement of article. These are not sites that you pay and get your post included on payment.

Closing Tip – A simple tip for Scrapebox users…
